Chattanooga Hash House Harriers |

| The St. Patty's Day hash was all sorts of irie. Wait, that's
Jamaican. Anyway, ReRun started everyone at the Doctor's Office Parking Lot (if you
don't know where this is by now, email or call someone) & lead the hashers past
Provident and down into the UTC area. Continuing past Chad's Records & up to the
apartment complexes nearby, ReRun then lead everyone across the end of Amnicola Highway
that dumps into the UTC & downtown area (a good hash always ups the blood pressure
with a little traffic dodging). Down to and across Veteran's Bridge, ReRun risked it all by heading down Barton Ave & doubling back under the bridge - lots of prime "get busted by the hashers coming across Veteran's" possibilities - to try a nice psych-out at Pisa Pizza. Instead of something easy like that, ReRun created this amazing maze through the roads between River City Cycle and Town & Country, then down into Cooledge Park and oh forget it, it was too confusing and long. So long, in fact, that the hashers stopped at the middle before ReRun finished the first half (Swamp Thang had driven to the middle and the hashers, being very smart, stopped with her). After an adult beverage or two, ReRun started again & headed across Market Street Bridge towards the Aquarium. From there it was another back & forth jumble between Market & Broad, 8th & 7th, until the hashers were lead back towards the courthouse, back past Provident again (luckily ReRun was able to draw some chalk maps so people wouldn't run over what the did in the beginning) and then across the Walnut Street Bridge. The hashers were able to pass a loud anti-war rally and then see the long-awaited "beer near" at the end, leading hashers towards more refreshment and circle at this hash's end, Durty Nelly's. Being the St. Patrick's Day hash, those who wore green won a prize, and those who didn't won a prize, and those who showed up won a prize. ReRun's Prize Patrol featured green gifts only - green keychains, green candles, green bandanas, green pickles, you get the idea. Many different flavored grown-up drinks were had, songs were sung and first-time ChooChooH3 attendees Pricilla and Swamp Thang taught sang some songs new to the group. With the overall merriment in full swing, everyone donated items (beer, ketchup, food, peanut shells) to the hashit for ReRun to drink and with a good hash behind everyone, Luck O'The Hasher was clearly present for all. |
