| Just a few brave souls braved the weather this year, but at
least those that did were in full costume. Sticky Banana was Satan, Ghost Rider was
a Girl Scout, Tickle Mi Hare was a Boy Scout, ReRun McNally was Dave Thomas (founder of
Wendy's), Thunder Pony was Wendy, Captain Fro Ranger was Senator John McCain and Shiggy
Mama was (hot) Sarah Palin. All met at The Chattanoogan's bar at 6:30, and after
leaving ample time for stragglers to arrive while beverages were finished, the pack left
at about 7:30 for an impromptu city walk and bar hop. First the pack was lucky
enough to meet Jefferson, the self-proclaimed 56 year old non-beggar who thought he looked
pretty good (he said so himself) who needed $8.82 to get back to Dalton. After a
long, carefully crafted story that detailed how he was not a robber (or a drunk), several
kind-hearted hashers gave him some cash, likely just to shut him the hell up. On-on
the way to the mid-beer was Chattanooga's Democratic headquarters, where those manning the
office were still in. Obama buttons were handed out to all, and several good
conversations were had. Many thanks to the DNC workers, who were very patient with
the ChooChoo hashers.
Next was Fro's short search for a well-hidden bookbag (Jefferson is sad he didn't find
that!), complete with a 12-pack of Keystone and a bag containing no less than 20 airplane
bottles of liquor. By the light of cell phones and cameras, Fro divvied out the
liquor. How the police or anyone else didn't notice a bunch of costumed fools
laughing and drinking in what was essentially an alley is a mystery. After much
joking and and character analysis resulting from one's choice of liquor (ReRun's selection
of pineapple rum brought forth much laughter and the freshly coined term
"ReRum"), the shots were had by all, but not enjoyed by all as some flavors were
not great.
After wondering where to safely enjoy additional more tiny liquor goodness, another
short walk was made to a friend's place that was always known for good times.
Unfortunately no one was in, but that didn't let the hashers from having a good
time. In the narrow hallway at the top of a very echoy stairwell orange food,
beverages and ab-workout quality laughter carried on into the night, interrupted several
times by revelations of how old the group was, seeing that debauchery was being had and it
was only 9:45pm.
Finally the decision was made to move along to a location that allowed sitting, food
and cigar smoking. The walk to Chattanooga Billiard Club was short (and luckily dry,
as the rain had stopped shortly after leaving The Chattanoogan), and was rewarded with a
cheese pizza, potato skins, fried cheese, chips & dip and two pitchers of Yuengling.
Cigars were enjoyed by all but Fro (he abstained as he was still working on his
crack pipe) and once the plates and glasses were empty, the crew made their way back to
The Chattanoogan area for everyone's respective trip home.
Ghost Rider & Tickle Mi Hare's song coming soon. ReRun's song here.
Many thanks to Fro and Shiggy for yet another great Bad Moon Rising! |
